Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a scholarship program funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, aimed at encouraging students to take up research careers in the areas of basic sciences. It offers scholarship and contingency grants up to the pre-Ph.D. level to selected Students. Begun in 1999, it is administered by the Indian Institute of Science.The students who qualify in the KVPY Exam are eligible for a fellowship as well as admissions into institutes like the IISc and the IISER based on additional criteria.

This exam has 3 Streams: SA (Class 11), SX (Class 12) and SB (First year BSc). For receiving a fellowship, both aptitude tests (75%) and interview marks (25%) are considered.

Eligibility for KVPY

Candidates have to score at least 75% marks (65% marks in case of the SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate in Science & Mathematics subjects in Class X. Candidates have to secure minimum 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate in Science Subjects in XII Standard Board Examination.

3.) NTSE

NTSE (National Talent Search Examination)


NTSE is one of the most prestigious national level scholarship programs. Its aim is to identified talented individuals and nuture them. This is conducted by National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) for Std. 10th students.

NTSE is a National Level scholarship program in India to identify and recognize students with high intellect and academic talent.

Students who have applied for class 10 through open learning can appear for NTSE exam. Age must be less than 18 years.

ELIGIBILITY

Who is eligible for Ntse exam?

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. The students who are in class X can also apply for the test. The candidates who wish to give NTSE exam in class X must have cleared class IX examination from a recognized board .

The candidate must have completed the class IX examination with a minimum of 60% marks.

All students studying in Class X in any type of recognized school including Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Sainik School etc. will be eligible to appear at the State Level Examination from the State in which the school is located. However, no domicile restriction shall be imposed.

  • Should be an Indian student.
  • Should be less than 18 years of age as on July 1, 2020.
  • Must be studying in class 10.
  • State eligibility may be added with existing details.
  • NTSE Stage 2: Must have secured 60% (aggregate) in their previous annual exam.
